We know that 99% of our guests will be traveling to our home state to celebrate our special day with us. We've put together a curated list of recommendations straight from our local know-how, hope it helps you make the most of your trip!
Y'all can ride into either Austin or San Antonio, take your pick, whichever trail suits you best.
We reckon it's smart to shop around for flights before you settle on one.
Heads up: Google Flights says airfare's running higher than usual these days. Might be worth keepin' an eye on prices and waitin' for 'em to settle down before you saddle up and book.
AUS - Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
Reckon it's about an hour and forty minutes on the road from Austin (AUS) to Fredericksburg. If you're aimin' to ride in early and see what Austin's got to offer, flyin' through AUS is the way to go.
SAT - San Antonio International Airport
Ridin' out from San Antonio (SAT) to Fredericksburg'll take you about 1 hour and 15 minutes, give or take. Before you saddle up and head that way, mosey on over to the Alamo and stroll the River Walk, two mighty fine stops worth your while before hittin' the open road to Fredericksburg.
Getting Around in Texas
Y'all are gonna want to rent a car at the airport. Texas is too big a spread to get by on rideshares alone, you'll want your own wheels to cover that ground.
Martini's Seafood House
Fredericksburg’s BEST Seafood Restaurant! Your go-to place for the freshest oysters, seafood dishes, great cocktails and live music. Martini’s Seafood House does not accept reservations for groups under 6 people. However, they do start a waitlist once the restaurant is completely full. You may join that waitlist in person, but we recommend calling before coming in. If there is a waitlist when you call, a staff member will add you to that list and send you a text message when your table is ready.
Casa Chloe
Casa Chloe, REQUIRES A RESERVATION but don't miss it! This is where the essence of Mexico is celebrated in Fredericksburg. The restaurant blends upscale dining with a cozy atmosphere. Each dish reflects time-honored Mexican techniques, honoring culinary traditions passed down through generations.
Jack's Chop House
A high-end family style steakhouse with a old school charm. Please note this location has a dress code of business casual/cocktail.
Otto's German Bistro
Farm-to-Table German Cuisine! Otto's German Bistro is an upscale bistro serving Germanic cuisine in a convivial setting. With a seasonally changing menu, they source quality local meat and produce as well as the finest organic and sustainable ingredients available. Their beverage program features an extensive German-Austrian wine list, craft beers, and handcrafted cocktails.
Eaker BBQ
Central Texas meats the East (pun intended) Lance brings his Central Texas Style Barbecue with a mesquite smoke twist; slow smoking only prime meats on offset smokers. Not to be outdone, Boo’s Korean heritage inspired menu items that give the taste of the East mixed in with the Texas goodness served at Eaker Barbecue.
Backwoods BBQ
After 30+ years in the Mexican restaurant business in Mason, Michael Zavala decided to get into the food service business here. “I’ve always wanted to just do barbecue,” said Zavala, who also did some barbecue and catering at his previous location. “I felt Fredericksburg would be a good fit for us to do a barbecue restaurant.” Zavala, along with his wife, Jennifer; sister, Debra Rodriguez, and her son, Jonathon, opened Backwoods Barbecue on July 28, 2016.
Hill & Vine
Meet up at Hill & Vine's turf patio, where there are plenty of tables and chairs for the entire group to enjoy wine, cocktails, and beer. Dine under the string lights on hearty Texas dishes like locally raised ribeye, Gulf snapper tacos, and chili citrus-brined pork chop. You can also grab a seat inside the modern, lodge-style dining room.
William Chris Vineyards
The first and only Texas winery to make the top 50 list (ranked #31) in 2025 World's Best Vineyards by the World's Best Vineyards Academy. Reservations are highly recommended although they do have a bistro area that does not require a reservation.
This vinyard is a 5 minute drive from our wedding venue at King River Ranch. We recommend stopping here before the wedding for a charcuterie board and a glass of wine. Just don't get carried away and miss our wedding!
Cuvée Wine & Piano Bar
Step into sophistication and charm at Cuveé Wine & Piano Bar, nestled on Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas. Enjoy the allure of our lovingly restored historic building from 1855, offering a blend of vintage charm.
Lincoln Street Wine and Cigar Bar
The oldest and most visited bar in Texas Hill country. Chill hangout with a bygone atmosphere offering premium cigars, gourmet bites & international wines.
Emigrant Boutique Hotel + Maggie’s Speakeasy
This hotel makes great cocktails at their beautiful lobby bar. In the basement of the Emigrant Boutique Hotel you will find Maggie’s, the hotels speakeasy. Lastly, you'll find live entertainment Fridays & Saturdays on their beautiful patio.
78624 The Bar
78624 The Bar it’s Fredericksburg classic craft cocktail bar for anyone with a taste for fine wines, cocktails, beer, charcuterie, and an inquiring mind. Located in one of the most beautifully preserved historical buildings in Fredericksburg with inviting lounge areas and a lovely courtyard.
Elk Store Winery & Distillery
The Elk Store Winery & Distillery serves a large selection of our own small-batch handmade liquors by the case, bottle, or cocktail. This family owned business has an amazing history and love for high quality cocktails.
Joshua Creek Ranch
Just 40 minutes outside of Fredericksburg. Joshua Creek Ranch occupies a unique diverse terrain making it a paradise for hunting quail, upland bird, pheasant, mallard ducks, and trophy deer. They have a variety of options including half-days where guns can be rented. Ensure you book and confirm your reservation in advance.

Wine Tours
With more than 75 wineries and wine-tasting rooms in the Fredericksburg area, planning a wine tour can be a bit overwhelming, so leave the planning to the pros and book a wine tour. Wine tour companies offer a variety of services including full-day wine tours, half-day wine tours, and private wine tours in Fredericksburg, Texas. Or if you’re looking for a less structured way to explore the wineries in Fredericksburg, hop on the 290 Wine Shuttle, which departs from downtown Fredericksburg & ventures out to set Fredericksburg wineries every 10 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays.
Explore Main Street
“The Magic Mile” begins just east of the Admiral Nimitz Museum and continues west to Marktplatz. Along the way, in outstanding historical buildings, you will enjoy top quality shopping. Wide sidewalks and courtyards line the streets making this a lovely walk. Marktplatz, in the 100 block of Main Street, could easily be called the heart and soul of Fredericksburg, Texas
Texas Woodworkers Market
Woodworkers Market, located at Marktplatz, is an art and fine craft show just for woodworkers. These talented artists will be bringing their best woodworking to the show, including tables, beds, dressers, interesting vintage bases with gorgeous wood tops, mantels, cutting boards, cheese slicers, crosses, wall decor, wood-turning (vases, bowls, goblets...) and more. No two pieces are ever alike. Come out and support Texas artisans. Live music throughout the weekend, food truck and winery on site
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
One of the most popular parks in Texas, protecting the soaring views of Enchanted Rock that look out over the rolling, tree-scattered Texas Hill Country. The huge pink granite dome that sits as the centerpiece of this park is less than 20 miles from the tourist haven of Fredericksburg, Texas. Now called the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, hundreds of thousands of visitors clamber up its gleaming rock faces each year to learn about historical legends and ancient geology while experiencing a piece of Texas’ natural heritage.
